Isol(N) Ation Poem by Danny Gill

Isol(N) Ation

Isolation as a social diet, As a nation no one ever tried it
Keep your distance please, Police insistent these, measures will prevail, If pleasures once regaled
Once treasured are curtailed
As leisurely as snails, Our treasuries have failed
The Richters off the scale, Like crickets lost the bails
No Wethers selling ales, Greggs is smelling stale
No lengthy queues for sales
They said stay home save lives,
Then as we watched he died
I can't breathe cops he cried,
But no one stopped and tried,
So now we empathise

Let's go disturb the quiet, Let's make an urban riot
If a mans attacked, In a land detached
Might not know the facts, But I pays my tax
I'mma wear a mask, And take you all to task

Bending on my knee in my tracksuit
You might not agree with that view
But you saw I freed that statue
Now they're gone, release a statute

Joining this protest bro, Don't resist arrest though
Innocent until proven guilty, Officer who put him into jail he
Got filmed in an act the world sees, Saw that man attacked was healthy

Then the Constitution failed see
Have you sworn again your fealty
But judge my colour please feel free
When you're born nobodys guilty
The iller sins within reveal these
No sugar little bit of milk please
I'm English just because I drink tea
