It Doesn’t Matter Anymore

The stars can fall from the heavens high
And no matter how hard I cry
It doesn’t matter anymore
Wild rivers can run dry
Flowers wilt in a sun bleached sky
It doesn’t matter anymore

Desperate words spoken with no reply
Poignant angels forget how to fly
It doesn’t matter anymore

Death is not far from where we lie
Quietly calling, never asking why
It doesn’t matter anymore

Common sense has turned a blind eye
Fruitless thoughts have gone awry
It doesn’t matter anymore

Desire has lost its feral sigh
Breathless moments die
It doesn’t matter anymore

Vacant stares at a lover’s door
A dark vacuum with much rancor
Asking ransom of one’s inner décor
It just doesn’t matter anymore
