it is easy to say i miss you
in the same manner that you say you miss me

sometimes i ask
if i understand the exact meaning of the word
sometimes i ask
if you really mean it when somewhere in the empty space
of this universe

we still have to figure out what is really in there
that they store for us

we have never really touched
the fragile surfaces of our skins
the hands
how can they ever speak about
intimacy?

i shall have a way with words
i must decipher every possible lapses of its nuances
there is no way to use a word to hurt
a syllable to offend
there is no way to call upon some images to destroy
what castle of feelings you have built
in the sands of your understanding

let me say this
the word missing is just a whisper to the ears of the dark night
it is heard by the wind
but it is never understood by the brightest star
it pierces through the thick-faced sky
and the meteors and the shooting stars merely pass it by
as the moon swoons its way to dawn

the sun prepares its rays for another day
it is bright and warm on my face
even when you say goodbye

i have decided there will be no missing in my heart
for now it is strange and numb
