It Lives Poem by Raven Maloy

It Lives

I can feel it brewing
In depths deeper than the abyss
Something cold and unfeeling
It hungers
It yearns for more
Screeching never ceasing
I can feel its touch
I can feel it take root and grow
Slowly taking hold
It takes, and it feeds
Never sated
Soon nothing will suffice
Slash me open
Gut me
And darkness will spill
It will kill the light
It will blot out star after star
Whence its done
You will remember the night
As once being bright
Primordial nothingness
Will rule once again
And the universe will remain
An ever-fading scar
On its lifeless body
