It's Just A Dream Or Is It? - Poem by Rownel Allen

I went to your room
With flowers on my hand
Sneaking to surprise you
I'm excited myself too

But your room was bare
Your closet was empty
Only the smell of your perfume
And a small piece of note

I stand still, numbness all over
Tears start to roll down
This can't be real

I don't even have the strength
To read what's on the note
I saw this happening
I just didn't expect this soon

'Thanks, sorry and goodbye'
Is all that you wrote
This can't be true
You left me all alone

So much pain in my heart
I almost stopped breathing
I was shouting your name
Then I was suddenly awakened.

Thank God! It was just a dream!
I was so happy I jumped with joy
I hurriedly went into your room
But...

Your room was bare
Your closet was empty
Only the smell of your perfume
And a small piece of note...
