It's Just A Question Poem by Ann Golden

It's Just A Question

Are you planning on working after you get married?
Relax- it's just a question
What do you mean you don't want kids?
Relax- it's just a question
They didn't mean anything by it
After all, you are a girl

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I see the feminism within the poem and would like to have seen more examples of the gender biases posed in (sometimes) 'innocent' questions posed from that gender bias which 'innocently' create the glass walls and ceiling of gender stereotyping. Of course, this type of gender stereotyping is prevalent in all gender orientations and serves to limit and punish those breaking out of those (sometimes) unconscious stereotypes.
