It's Never Too Late To Dream, Your Move, Ascend Poem by James Darwin Smith II

It's Never Too Late To Dream, Your Move, Ascend

Retracing your tracks
A natural occurrence
Walked into it somehow
Without even knowing
As reality came crashing
Like a haste ridden tide
Laden with vengeance
Crashing through
The ripples of an enigmatic
Once upon a time
The ever redundant
Feelings of desertion

Nothing to offer as of now
So away so far away
The warm winds blow
Leaving behind wind chills
Of frigid icy air
Stoic in dreams
Wishing for passion
To fire it up
So rivers of emotions
Can flow into
Endless oceanic dreams fulfilled
Traveling further than ever before

So much emptiness ahead
Upon this ghost ship of hope

Sometimes mirages, they form
Only to be determined as
Cruel reminders of wishes
Being turned into white caps

Of harsh reality forming
Into maelstroms spinning
Thoughts into a frenzy of disillusion

Yet, this is an adventure after all
Better to go forward in turmoil
Than to be stuck in frustration
Pondering how things will capsize
These dreams and ambitions

Then come back to reality
Standing where you have stood before
Fighting thoughts of hope and frustration
Wondering why I still believe
You will be back some way or another
Revegetated on what lies ahead in wait

But then lingers redundancy
Thoughts of why you came back

Am I always the final destination?
Till there is another path
To be determined
By the fortitude
For which is deemed better
Than any effort I could ever give
To only be fooled by your evil twin within
Yet again

Someday you will see
My terms will finally be set
And things will be different
As I demand the most earnest respect
Upon a two way path

Where we explore both
Personal perspectives
Strolling side by side
With hand in hand
Equality understanding
Of where we would be
From here to there
And everywhere
In and on out
There will be no over using
Just balance in this venture
Will you be able to do so?
Or are you stuck thinking
You are so much better than me?

Take this journey
Of leave it

It all depends
On if you have any respect
Of all the sweat, blood and tears
That I have always dedicated to you

I made sure to clear your path
Now it is all up to you
To come my way

It was me who was there
When everyone turned their backs
In utter disgust
Are you still rewarding the likes of them?

This is to you
My enemy, my dream, my love
My imaginary friend

You were real once
Will be real again?

Only time will spring ahead and tell

Is it all just seasonal to you?
How many times must this heart
Have to bend?

You have stayed the world
I have become the universe
That is the difference between us
In this change of guard
Upon seasonal wisdom
Between two souls
That paved two different roads
Only to come back together
After realizing
They created a heart shaped highway
Of joined dreams and ambitions

Does this not prove something?
Or will you be too blinded
By your own ego to see

Oh, well
I still have my dreams

Where do you see yourself?
From here on out

Hopefully within

Just be yourself
And I will keep just being me

Love or deceit
what is more comfortable to you?

You better know your tracks
Better than even I have ever known
Just know this...
It is never too late to dream

It's your move... Ascend
