It's Not Fair Poem by Walter Anchors

It's Not Fair

In 2002 when I arrived, we started for each other to care
We both knew from the start
That we shouldn’t be apart
It’s not fair

We were quite the pair
We had so much fun
On the beach and in the sun
It’s just not fair

Every month you had to dye your hair
I always thought it was funny
But you insisted on being a young looking honey
Is this really fair?

Everyone saw in you all of the care
Telling it like it is
And not caring about that or this
Does anyone think it’s fair?

Then there was a deafening sound in the air
When February 15th came
And isn’t it a shame
God, it’s just not fair

We had a lot of love to share
Every day I ask why
Did we have to in this life say to you good-bye
Faith, for you not to be here now is just not fair
