It’s Satan’s Job Poem by Michael P. Johnson

It’s Satan’s Job

God’s seeking for His Son a bride
Perfect in every way
So through His Spirit deep inside
He’s testing night and day

He’s testing out our wayward hearts
Trying what broils within
Searching if one of Satan’s darts
Has led our souls to sin Job 1: 8

It’s Satan’s job to prove the seed
He’ll lie he’ll steal and cheat
He'll tempt and woo the worthless weed
From Jesus’ ripening wheat

Christ warns about the devil’s snares
Of testing in this life
He warns because He truly cares
And wants a faithful wife

He warns that Satan will deceive
Festoon our lives with flaws
But those who in His name believe
Will close the devil’s jaws

Even with friends we love so dear
Will darkness seek its place
Will cloud the mind fill hearts with fear
To make us lose the race

In sickness there are testing grounds Job.2: 3-10
Yet wisdom proves so well
For here the devil makes his rounds
To see what pain may tell Job.3: 1-26

So those now lost, full sin and shame
Who die with hearts of stone
Its not the devil who’s to blame
The choice is ours alone
