It Seems Poem by Alfred Ramos

It Seems

It seems you only appear in my dreams
Your angelic smile
Stays only for a while
Then like a puff of air you’re gone
But your aroma lingers on
It seems I now awaken to screams
Perspiration on my face
Or was it tears taking place
You seem to be playing with my heart
While laughing at me you call it art
It seems I couldn’t count on your schemes
You weren’t much of a lover
But it took me too long to discover
And now I’m paying the price
For not listening to my own advice
It seems you found a way to take down moonbeams
Erase rainbows from the skies
Reinvented faithless alibis
Placed your smile on an empty face
Escaping secretly without a trace
It seems you’ve taken this game to extremes
You’ve taken away what’s most pure
But breaking my heart isn’t a cure
How much pain must I go through?
My first and last will be with you
