It Shouldn'T Have Happened Thus Poem by Susmit Panda

It Shouldn'T Have Happened Thus

Love, it shouldn't have happened thus
That you, and not me, are timorous;
That I clutch you in my palms
And fetterless my feet, fetterless my arms;
That I, and not you, am odorous,
Love, it shouldn't have happened thus!

Love, it shouldn't have happened thus
That I, and not you, am ferrous;
That I hide you behind a chamber-door,
That I bleat in quiet, not you in roar,
That I, and not you, am rebellious,
Love, it shouldn't have happened thus!

Love, it shouldn't have happened thus
That I, and not you, am spontaneous;
That I'm Deathlessness, and you're Death,
That I, not you, demouth my desirous breath,
That both you and me are deficient in fuss!
Love, it shouldn't have happened thus
