It Takes A Moment - Poem by Rosie McFadden
Pardon my silence.
What a thing to discover!
The heart I thought was mine.
Is still searching for another.
No! I don’t want to talk.
It hurts just to breathe.
No one else can console me.
Why couldn’t you just leave?
I want to be alone.
I need a pause to recover.
It just takes a moment.
The love of my heart was never my lover.
I’m a person who comes alive only in love.
So I let go of hurt just to set my heart free.
Raise my eyes to the stars and watch it soar.
I know somewhere, my love, is searching for me.
