It Was Only One Time Poem by Tammy Arthur

It Was Only One Time

They say you’re pregnant
how can that be?

It was only one time.

I'm only sixteen
I'm still a child myself

They say you have nine months
to decide what to do

They say you must grow up now
too late to cry

What’s that I feel forming inside of me
a life beginning

This little person is counting on me
so much to decide

The day is here so much pain
so little time I cry it hurts

It’s you and me
I hold you close

You cry and smile up at me
we bond you’re mine forever

No more regrets nothing to decide
you’re mine until I die

It was only one time
