~~~ They Laid Ivan Low
dug deep in the Earth
a Mighty Hole
Served his Country
Like a Steel Driven Man
Shared little in the Bounty
of the Home he knew
as his Land
Selfless in all he meant
called upon'
he's always ready
and away he went
True to his Bride
Stood hard on his conviction
Humble Man,
never glossed his Pride
on no man
did he place restriction
Ivan Rode cross this Land
upholding his Honor
Best he could
always there
to lend help of his Hand
He let be
all around him
let it be free as it wish to be
for that's all he ever ask
or wanted to be, , ,
Better may came along
but they ain't around
to be in this Song
On a Day
when the Wind slowed down
just long enough
for the dust to touch ground
Ivan laid his weary head upon
that old Pillow of Down
Breathed a Word to friends
so Profound, , ,
Said Friends
Hate to burden
you with these
old Bones
But time has come
for this Old Man
to carry on back Home, , ,
So just remember
Life ain't for spending
time selfish and Vain
nor running wild
with ideas that you got
the Will to stop the Rain
No, Life is meant to be LIVED
not SPENT
cause your time here
is a
short term lease
and soon or later
all your Rent is spent, , ,
and it's then, ,
you're required to release, , ,
so just let go
be free
free as you can be
free, , ,
free is the way we're meant to be, , ,
Freedom
don't lose it
when it stares you in
the face
you KNOW, , ,
you can't refuse it
Freedom, , ,
I ain't lieing, ,
without it
you may as well be dieing
Freedom, , ,
Own it as your Birthright, , ,
To Freedom Boys
forever hold on tight, , ,
Closed his eyes without a Tear
went out without an once of Fear
FREE, , ,
Forever, , , now, , , he's Free
Riding that Freeline Train on back Home
