I've Passed On My Day Poem by Kaushal Jha

I've Passed On My Day

Rating: 5.0

'I've passed on my day'

The day starts with the end
of the yawning night,
a dream of a healthy day given.

At first, it seems like a lifetime,
but it's really just a moment in time.

I walk the path, holding onto my dreams,
hoping they come true.
Otherwise, the day is just a day
and another day becomes a forgotten dream.

In the afternoon, I think of the evening,
but it's just another day to come.
When I find myself lost in the middle of the path,
I realise the path is full of rumoured truths
that I must still walk on.

As I reach the end of my journey,
I find myself surrounded by woods and bushes.

The day turns bloody with no attitude,
but experience and knowledge fill my belly,
giving me the power to overcome the obstacles
and complete my journey.

In the end, I return home
and my dream comes true.

Now I enjoy the calmness of the black shadows
and savour the meal I've been given.

'I've passed on my day, ' I say.
But tomorrow brings another day
and another dream to chase.

Life isn't just about the day,
but the moments that make it up.

Still, I can say with pride,
'I've passed on my day! '
