Janie Poem by Amber Carreon

Janie

Juanita Carreon, a name we all know.
With the spirit, she was aglow.

Her time revolved around loving her God.
So a Paradise Earth is what she taught.

Her zeal and her love grew stronger by weeks,
Searching for sheep, the righteous, and meek.

She defended Jehovah with her sweet voice.
Always maintained her dignity and poise.

She didn't only teach though, she also was taught.
At the Christian meetings, the scriptures she sought.

On stage she was a student and took in new skills.
I remember those times, in her probably red heels.

I'll never forget the faces she made
When her partner kept making the same mistake.

Oh how i love my grandma so much.
The things i would do to feel one more touch.

She would constantly thank us for all that we did,
Saying without Jehovah she couldn't live.

It was rough for a while, everyone exhausted.
But there was one thing, she constantly said.

'I don't know what i would do, without you.'

Anytime i was tired and sometimes even hurt,
Those words always melted my heavy heart.

I know we will all see her, soon once again
Catching her up on what happened in the end.

I can just hear her laugh, and see her young eyes.
When it's her time for Jesus to raise.

Until then, we fight our fight, because hers she already won.
Grandma Janie goodbye for now, until the new world to come.
