Based on Marilyn Friday’s OBE
The day was over and I was lying on my couch
When suddenly I heard that loud buzzing noise
Akin to that as if my fridge began to grouch,
Foretelling its explosion in that metallic voice.
I wasn’t asleep; the noise emerged while I was wide awake.
The buzzing went on till I heard the phone ring.
Yeah, I should take the call that rang up for my sake,
When I sat up I saw a kind of kink —
My body was still lying down… What a chance
For me to stay out of body and fly away wherever
I wish to fly. My soul didn’t know in advance
That it could be detached; it wasn’t so clever.
The trip was ended up in an unknown fort,
I saw two lady souls walking in the hall.
I sought to talk to them, perhaps they could afford
To speak with an alien and reply to my call.
They wore long dresses and those funny little hats.
I asked the road leading to the dreamland.
They readily expressed all their hearts regrets,
“We don’t know. You are in Berkshire, England.”
