January - Poem by Stuart Doggett

Where have you gone?
I’m waiting for you,
I’ve waited so long.

An ache inside forever,
I just want you back,
Where have you gone to
That you can't find your way back?

I miss you so,
It’s been too long
Since I last listened
To your sweet and loving song.

I searched everywhere
Looking for a trace,
A line to lead me back to you,
Into your open embrace.

At last I think I found you
Beyond all places dark,
The last place I thought to look,
Within my beating heart.

I wish that I could see you,
But now I know where you hide
And every time I think of you
You’ll live inside my mind.
You’ll be forever in my mind.
