January Jams Poem by John Sensele

January Jams

January reminds
Profligate lads and lasses
Their kinds
Suffer pecuniary pains befitting their classes.

January stalks families
Who in December
Squander funds on Willy nillies
Forgetting to cater for tuition fees for a family member.

January jokes with junk
Embarked upon
By dads who imitate a skunk
To pass water in Babylon.

January salary
Seems more than thirty days away
In home riveted to usury
Where debt damns nutrition every other day.
