January Snow - Promise Poem by Paul Moss

January Snow - Promise

January Snow - Promise

As early snowdrops begin to show
a reminder that Mother Nature never stops
A small silent ringing that spring will come.

Their omen calls the heavens open
With this year's first snow fall.
A quiet, white blanket silences our buzzy world.

Giving over roads and hills to young hearts for
Snow-fights, snowmen and sliding sledges.
Something to excite us in our hideaway homes.

Gone too quickly like a guilty pleasure.
Leaving us to ponder on our daily walk
across the white untrodden ground.

Yet Nature has left her signs here too
With tiny tracks as her world carries on regardless.
