Japanese Blush Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Japanese Blush

It was like Japanese blush, upon those tiled cheeks
Will you remember her gentle, intricate grin
Even if she fades into the sunset of her fears?
Would you come back for more
When her bodily scents fade into the wry distance?
She ties her hair cleverly, like careful branches on a tree
Lay her on the sofa, she’s ready for some love
Stroke her until she calms down, refusing to break away.
All she needs is a few kind words, a sticky gaze
And your deep warmth until she vanishes into you.
The creamy moon bellows at your attempts
As you edge her, moving closer to her mysteries.
Don’t you give up, keep reaching out until she nods
She’s been waiting for you for a thousand pages,
Sleeping like a child, she’ll drive you crazy;
But you’ll never feel more like home.
