Jd Poem by Shark Dairo

Jd

Rating: 4.0

JD, a weird boy was he
And was about to loose his sanity
He would sit on a mat, the word Dunce on his hat
Thinking he could defy gravity

He didn't enjoy speaking, though sometimes he would
In his own attempt to sound good
And his friends would just laugh, but that wasn't enough
They would also say things to ruin his mood

Though loved was he by his family
He could not feel their compassion
But who is to blame how his misfortune came
And how it caused all of this confusion?

Now one day he leapt in an attempt to fly
But he had just slept thinking he touched the sky
And flew he did up up and away
Away from this world of hate and dismay

He flew amongst dragons that breathe fire and ice
He flew amongst flying elephants and mice
He tasted the clouds and their silver linings
He did this all until the afternoon sun was shining

He loved that world of make believe
He could be a hero, or whatever he could conceive
And more and more would he spend time asleep
It was his way out, his trick up his sleeve

He slept through his classes; Maths English and Science
Even through lectures, meetings with clients
He slept through his mornings when the birds start a-singing
And through his night-times when the owl is a-hooting

One day he slept the eternal sleep
Forever to watch the fence-leaping sheep
And on his tombstone engraved are the words to read:
Here lies JD, a weird boy was he.
