Jealousy Poem by Rabecca Welch

Jealousy

Jealousy is a rampage that tears threw your heart,
That rips life and love apart,
It pulls and tugs until you give into its melancholy art,
The art that entangles and entraps you with its simplicity.

Jealousy is a loathing of a simple innocent hello or hug,
The loathing that sinks down to seed its self within,
That crawls over you like a bug,
You itch and you squirm and scream, not outward but in.

You want to love but jealousy only lets you hate,
It makes you want more,
It drives you towards evil’s gate,
It bursts out to soar.

You are lost and struggling; you want the way out,
You scratch, you cry, you scream; finally scream,
You swim threw the mess it made and untangle the doubt,
A light shines on you with an iridescent beam.

You are saved and found in love for jealousy holds you no more,
Is it too late to have the love you had once more?
Are you now too poor?
No, God has saved and will grant you a love better than all.
