Jealousy Poem by Ben Littlechild

Jealousy

I know of the monster called jealousy,
It sleeps in the dark places of my mind.
Lying in wait for the next victim to find.
Alone and distraught I have been
Now I see her and still not be seen.
It awakes, spewing anger and hatred for the one.
He who I don’t know, but wish was gone.
His arm on my lover, although she has never known.
Alone and distraught I have been,
For always knowing my lover will not know me.
