Jesus Is Mine - Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Power’s the gift of love divine
Truth is The Way to see
God’s the glory Jesus is mine
Heaven’s the victory

How wonderful the quiet voice
The moment of the dawn
When Christ becomes our fervent choice
And souls become reborn

What miracles does life await?
What blessings lie ahead?
Serving this side of Heaven’s gate
Serving The Living Bread

Rising content at Jesus’ feet
Life’s resolution made
Watching the ancient foe retreat
Seeing the darkness fade

Glory’s written for Jesus’ own
Life’s crown and robe of white
By giving up our heart of stone
Our soul as darkest night

Committing all to Heaven’s Flame
To God our sinful mind
We cast aside our loathsome shame
And leave all sin behind

Though life’s not rainbows in the sky
Nor dewdrops in a glade
To those who seek God’s face on high
Love’s restitution’s made

Faith is the way truth is the door
Obedience is the key
Ours is love forever more
When Jesus sets us free
