Jesus Is Here Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Jesus Is Here

The Lord God’s real His promise true
Almighty is His name
He sees the lovely things we do
And those festooned with shame

He sees our heart our shameful soul
Our sin polluted mind
Each selfish want each evil goal
And sees our eyes are blind

Creation’s seen through eyes of fools
Yet who of us can hear
Shunning our God breaking His rules
Without a trace of fear

Wisdom and knowledge we abuse
Walking through the night
With every wind we change our views
Sinning with great delight

Like revellers on a wayward fling
Children without a guide
We’re disrespecting everything
His perfect hand’s supplied

We pillage rape we vandalise
We kill with raging hate
God’s perfect love we criticise
And close to life the gate

We see religion through a veil
There’s nothing when we die
That God’s a children’s fairy tale
And Satan but a lie

We’ll scandalize God’s perfect name
Reject Salvation’s plea
We’ll live and die we’ll rise in shame
Eternal hell to see
