Joker Poem by Victoria Annette Bailey

Joker

Rating: 5.0

The Joker behind
The concealing smile
Blindly feels his way
Wonders if it's worthwhile.
Again he draws
His acting face,
Leaving sanity
Without a trace.
Glistening eyes
Of unheard tears
Nothing to lose
Audience to fear.
Hiding his passion
He hates every day,
Silently wishing
It wasn't this way.
He sings his words
In a sad, pleading song,
With intentions good
but purpose wrong.
The over-zealous costume,
That casts the outside eye
Misconceives the smiling man
Another broken lie.
