Josh Poem by Tamari M. Streeter

Josh

You went far away
You're not here to say, 'Hey! '

I still look at my phone
And hear that dial tone
Waiting for you to answer back
It's you voice that we all lack

It hit me so bad
No, I don't feel sad
Instead, I feel numb
Man, I feel so dumb

Wishing you burst through the door
So we won't have to cry on the floor
They say it's way too late
Can't do a thing on this date

We didn't want to believe
Cuz we didn't want you to leave
No, it's not real
This can't be how we feel

Boom! It hits us
No need for a fuss
Truth can't be deceived
Even if we don't want to believe

No, we have to be done
But we also can't run
I'm sick of this pity party
Someone say something hardy

Someone remember those good times
Someone remember those funny lines
Yes, I will miss you in the end
But fly high, fly high, my friend

Moments won't be as they were found
But still, you're not gone
No, you're in our hearts
Even from the start

What I'm saying is, 'Oh my Gosh!
Yes, we will miss you, our dear Josh.'
