Journey Myth Poem by sholadoye Dada

Journey Myth

The efficacy of life is as a sword
If not in the rain, then in the sun
But either still haunt for umbrella

On the journey of a thousand mile
I rested under a citrus tree
Just to ask for shelter
Thinking it’s for a while
Because its small size could do nothing, I thought

At about looking up, a fruit fell
Suddenly, I rose in surprise
Half-scared, half-happy
Wanting to reach for the fruit but more fell
Thoughts of how long I would stay came visiting
How I wished it was for a while

In the realm of filling the stomach,
When the brain was empty,
Walked in a brave and proud thought:
“I am bigger than you” it said in affirmation.
Forcing me to raise up my head
Half-eating and half-panting
At the sight of a very big citrus tree
A far off and looking handsomely green
I stood immediately to relocate
Believing I was going for good
On getting there, fruits were abomination
I then thought they could be at the top
But thoughts could not do worse

At about regretting,
Embarrassed with the encumber
“I am bigger than you”
I voiced in arrogance
Forget about size, it’s about touching lifes!
