Jove Of Love Ii Poem by Chibueze Oscar Osuji

Jove Of Love Ii

In respect to the grand love birds, I greet
Watching them thro' whilst they glide place to place;
If time herself is meek for us to meet
The f'llowing words will I say face to face:

'How long shall you soar high on cupid wings
Is it thro' the old grey time of dear
death?
In sickness, and pain and all the saddest things,
How boldly shall you love till your last breath? '.

'Love is that tougher bed we try to make
(Full of surprises as the wise men say)
Half of the world will love, half may forsake;
(To the love birds tarry and go your way) '.

Bye and bye, these words are forgott'n as well
Aye and aye, these words I shall never tell.
