Up and above everything
Seriously up and about
The rural lady-flocks
You might have chanced
To view and watch-
Singing community songs
Singing in groups on both
Both auspicious occasions
Of joys and sorrows.

Restoring-
Back to mental health
What an ongoing feeling
Of belonging and well-being
Completely collective-
Singing their hearts out
Observing, since childhood
The songs of lady-flocks.

In rural India even today-
Singing out joys and sorrows
In groups all human sufferings.
All animals, birds and plants
Expressing in similar manner
Too, their joys and sorrows.
