Just A Blue Sky Poem by ted de Hallam

Just A Blue Sky

Sun warms the outside but I'm cold on the inside
Talk to myself but I get no reply
Don't know the answer but still ask the question
What am here for, just a blue sky?

Left a dreary old England one cold winter morning
From up in the sky saw a country below
Too high to see people but didn't much matter
Nobody knew me, not been here before.

Life's all about people, friends past not forgotten
Names still remembered of children at school
Mem'ries still sharp that cut through the ages
Of aching young love, of feeling a fool.

I left my home, said goodbye to my family
It all seemed unreal, just a moment in time
Been here three years soon, looking for something
Still haven't found it, my life doesn't rhyme.

Today is the the start for a brand new tomorrow
Changes to make, things I must do
Accept that what's past is gone not forgotten
Get myself right for my kids might come soon.
