The plane finally takes off
My heart beats, or perhaps thump
Two years I've waited
Now the wait is up
My eyes lined with black kohl
Lips, soft to the touch
I can wait no longer
I've missed you so much
25 hour flight
So many hours to ponder
Will she run to my arms?
Is it ok to hug her?
We had three weeks to meet,
get to know, and get married
A honeymoon in India, then
your departure was harried
I wanted to stay longer
And profess my hopes to you
To say I'm coming back soon
To whisper how much I love you
I wanted you to stay
It was so hard to let go
Finally you are coming back
And my heart is aglow
Just a few more hours....
Just a few more hours....
