Just A Step Yonder Poem by Samuel Bamidele

Just A Step Yonder

Never knew 'twas just a step
in faith ahead i needed to take
to reach my highest dreams peak
i daily pursue with zest and zeal

each time i tried, the nut went loose
each move i made, the balance went bad
the wind blew wild and suddenly went south

on and on i started again
never to give in to my defeat
silently i learnt to pray
and hope in faith that this is my time

and just an inch before i gave up
a step i took a yonder
like a twinkle twinkle flash
as if 'twas not the road i passed before
number of times without result

and found myself in my dreamland
the highest peak i ever longed for.
