Just Above The Vase Poem by Fethi Sassi

Just Above The Vase

I will talk to you about something
There in my house,
No not the kitchen
And not necessarily in any other room
There is a nail on which I hang my dreams every night
But I am no poet who hangs on the wound a poem
The nail is above the vase
I can also tell you more things
On the prayer of the absentee if you wish
Or a sigh in a tree's throat
But who would believe me
When I force my fingers to hang a nail in the living room
A wound forgotten underneath the vase
