Just Another Hat Trick Poem by Oliver Coleman

Just Another Hat Trick

Rating: 5.0

What happened?
Did we trip along the way?
Leaving a piece of us behind?
Love.
A word pushed upon us.
A word we have adopted so that it may torture us into submission.
A battle of hopeless outcome?
Or are the odds in our favor?
We fight until the last breath is sucked out of us.
We take on a challenge and dare to oppose.
Love is an emotion or a figurehead?
Only when purged of it can you truly realize hate, anger and betrayal.
The human race has open the gates to an even greater foe!
If we step back and look at our selves we will only see the shells!
The shells of what we are happy with!
We could achieve so much more.
If we put aside our differences.
Put aside our cliques.
The appearance differs greatly from the heart.
Love can destroy a mind.
Hate can destroy love.
Are we earth's great disappointment?
Or are we just learning how to be human?
