Just Asking Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Just Asking

The money's gone, where did it flee?
Payday's joy, a memory.
A hole so big, a gaping space,
Empty wallet, empty place.

Bread costs more, gas climbs high,
Everything reaches for the sky.
Rent too heavy, bills a pile,
Just trying to make it, mile by mile.

Why this squeeze, this endless climb?
Whose hands are turning back the time?
Is this the future, grim and stark?
Just asking, lost here in the dark.

Prayers unanswered, on our knees,
Is there a cure for this disease?
What can we do, where can we turn?
Just asking, when will we ever learn?
