Just Be Yourself Poem by Felix Lee

Just Be Yourself

Rating: 5.0

The skies are dark,
The days are gloomy,
You just don’t feel alright,
You just feel stagnant where you are.

Have you felt the heat?
Do you ever hate yourself?
Do you wish to be someone else?
Would you want to end your life?

Why is the world being so unfair?
Why must good people die young?
Why can’t the world be peaceful?
Why is violence everywhere?

As you ask yourself these questions,
As you search your soul.
As you stare at people you hope to be,
As you think about things you’ll never have.

Can you remember the last time
You made someone’s day?
Can you remember the last time
You made your friends smile.

Have you ever felt
A warmth like no other?
Have you ever felt
A calmness in you?

Think about that happy face,
Think about that concerned look.
It’s always the same people,
The same familiar images.

Think about it:
If you were not what you what you are,
If you do not look like yourself,
What would your life be like?

Would you have met,
That dear friend?
Or found such a passion
In your life?

Would you feel so free,
Unlike that popular pop star?
Or would you feel so constraint,
With tight schedules?

Think about it,
Don’t worry.
Be happy,
Just be yourself.
