Just Causes Poem by anujan raja

Just Causes

JUST CAUSES
Our causes are just
They always say,
Champions and crusaders
The ultimate victory is ours,
They shout,
The world seldom listens to their shouts.

Torn limbs soaked in blood,
Heads rolled away
In the storm of the blast.
A whole human not so long ago
Transmuted into mere debris.
Shining trophies of victory.

Bigotry and fanaticism
That know no tolerance
Peace, harmony and goodwill
All forgotten long long ago
The turmoil of passions
Makes us all monsters
Who perform gruesome rituals
Of violence and hatred,
And say to the world
Our causes are just.

Yet another difficult mission
Accomplish’d successfully.
What a charming reward
We get in the morning!
A nice casualty list
The cold letters tell the world
Twelve persons dead
Sixty seven injured.
Read it and forget it,
That’s the way of the world.
