Justice For Ramisa by: Abdul Wahab Poem by Abdul Wahab (Bangladeshi)

Justice For Ramisa by: Abdul Wahab

Ramisa, may you rest in peace,
Your justice has been served,
The whole nation raised its voice,
Demanding what you deserved.

Your rapist faces death by law,
The court has given decree,
Sohel and Swapna too will fall,
No shelter they will see.

When the verdict is carried out,
Let the rapist be erased,
The people wanted, prayed for this,
Ramisa's victory embraced.

The rapist stole from you, my dear,
Your right to live and be,
Beware, O wicked man, beware,
No mercy waits for thee.

If you commit this heinous crime,
The punishment is death,
Your parents' home without you now,
Lies dark with every breath.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A protest poem dedicated to Ramisa, a victim of rape and murder. The court has delivered its verdict - death by hanging for the rapist. Justice has been served. But this poem is not just about demanding justice. It's about the void that remains even after the verdict. A father and mother's home left dark forever. This is a warning to all rapists: 'If you commit this heinous crime, the punishment is death.' And a mirror to society. Ramisa, may you rest in peace. May Allah grant you Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
