Justice, Minister? Poem by doug bentley

Justice, Minister?

it has taken one two four generations
of water water water everywhere
but not one drop of that drink
has ever been crystal clear...

a bucket of blood soaked butcheries

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
In 2019, there were 2,918 First Nations homes in Canada under long-term drinking water advisories, meaning residents haven't been able to drink the water from their taps for at least a year—often much longer. It is hard to imagine that in 2019, First Nations in Canada could lack access to clean drinking water in their own territories — but many do. In fact,400 of 618 First Nations were under at least one water advisory between 2004 and 2014...Harold Cardinal, the author of The Unjust Society, was once described by Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, father of the current Prime Minister, as "One of the three best political minds in Canada." Harold Cardinal published The Unjust Society in 1969.
