Kali, Mahakali, An Idol Of Kali, Mahakali Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Kali, Mahakali, An Idol Of Kali, Mahakali

Kali,
Mahakali,
A huge and gigantic idol
Of Kali,
Mahakali

King's Kali, Royal Kali,
The eyes big-big and wide-wide,
Hair hanging unto the waist,
The tongue out of the lips,
Blood-dribbling

And heads of sinners,
Devils
Wreathed in a garland
Around her neck
And those of the hands
Wreathed around the wrist

Mother in Anger, Anger Divine
But ashamed of
When one Leg, Leg Divine
Tramples it Shiva,
Shiva lying on the ground
To lessen Her Anger
As for Earth's sake, Humanity's sake

Mother with a Crown on Her Head,
The Crescent, the Third Eye and the Bindi
Bedecking Her Forehead
And She with Her mythological four hands
Holding arms and weapons
And the conch to blow
And a deadly snake.

Sideways of Her Toes coloured
With red coloured water
And She feminine, but fatigued
After battling sinners and devils,
The Legs ankleted,
The Arms braceleted.
