Keeps Me Alive Poem by Andrew Hinton

Keeps Me Alive

Relax, and learn to breath.
Life is a hurricane and you're a leaf.

Stretch, and look around.
There is beauty yet to be found.

Reach, and don’t cry.
Dreams are easily caught when you learn how to fly.

And whisper all the truths you need to hear,
You're beautiful, and loved, don’t hide the fear.
Shout and dance, because today is a chance.

And cry on the shoulders of the ones you love,
God is looking down on you from up above.
Smile and kiss, enjoy this moment's bliss.

Don't let time pass you by,
You're not guaranteed to live,
But you are to die.

Hold someone close to your heart,
Don’t wait forever,
Til it's too late to start.

Even through pain and sadness, or bouts of madness,

I don't want to go through life to just survive.
I want love as the thing that keeps me alive.
