Kennebunkport Goodbye Poem by Roy Howard

Kennebunkport Goodbye

squalling
down highway 1
scaling seawall
scattering ancient smoothstones
fine horizon incense
fading
on summer's ragged edge

shops closed
facades exposed, lone
gulls & salt-ice wind, crying
winter of storm & ending
