Kick Me While I'M Down Poem by Steven Elsner

Kick Me While I'M Down

I want to feel the steely tip of your boot,
As I lay gasping for life.
I want to feel the anger in the swing foot,
As my smile is blood-ridden and toothy.
I want to hear my ribs break,
As I cackle with joy.
I want to smell the dirt on the bottom of your heels,
As I my eyes yearn for more.
I want to experience the feeling on certain death,
As I taste the blood cascading from my mouth.
Please, I beg of you, kill me with care.
Commit a crime of passion.
End my life as I smile.
That's all I ask for.
