(kind Of) Drug - Poem by Rich Downes

A lone kind of drug
Love just bugs
Denying why you always stun
Only to now frown
And like every new vow
A time may leave me with such a stun
Just crying from afar
Seeing a star
Denying why you shall stun
A time is left so a-curled
But a feeling twirls
A time may leave me with such a stun

Leaving me ever so sad
A time becomes mad
Even when you leave me with shame
By there's nothing that's ever new
Still there's nothing that's now due
It's what happens next that I could never yet plan
Trying to ignore this eon
But here I am ever wrong
Oh how I couldn't touch
For I shall moan
For now I wanna just sigh
Some feelings cried
Stay looking into the cup
No way to get up to thrive

A reminder of everything that leaves me with the twirls
Just left with a wonder if it's not love but that of lust
A recollection without any new joys
For it's like a vow
Now I know why I'm never part of the lone crowd

A lone kind of drug
Love just bugs
Denying why you always stun
Only to now frown
And like every new vow
A time may leave me with such a stun
Just crying from afar
Seeing a star
Denying why you shall stun
A time is left so a-curled
But a feeling twirls
A time may leave me with such a stun

As I shall sit up on a shelf
I feel I go off the rail
Even if I find nothing more to even say
Only you're the reason why I'm struggling again with this grief
Struggling with this every vow
A time for love isn't due
A word isn't new
I know you push limit
No chance of you now to commit
A moment not grabbed
But never like that laugh
A moment not sat
Hitting that old sack
Hot kind of drug

A reminder of everything that leaves me with the twirls
Just left with a wonder if it's not love but that of lust
A recollection without any new joys
For it's like a vow
Now I know why I'm never part of the lone crowd

A lone kind of drug
Love just bugs
Denying why you always stun
Only to now frown
And like every new vow
A time may leave me with such a stun
Just crying from afar
Seeing a star
Denying why you shall stun
A time is left so a-curled
But a feeling twirls
A time may leave me with such a stun

A memory is does touch
Cannot even shake off lust
A time isn't set so free
For it's left on those repeats
For life seems to just bustle
For life wants to just juggle
Hoping to even show
And you leave me looking into my lonely cup
It's true that you're bored
Never could be so tough
Everyone knows how hard it is to be just so at that
Everyone denies an access
Only to just vow
As it's a test

A lone kind of drug
Love just bugs
Denying why you always stun
Only to now frown
And like every new vow
A time may leave me with such a stun
Just crying from afar
Seeing a star
Denying why you shall stun
A time is left so a-curled
But a feeling twirls
A time may leave me with such a stun
