Kindness Poem by Jay Loring

Kindness

There's one thing that we really need
To show in words and then in deed
It's Kindness

To heal the hurt of those in pain
And help them learn to live again
It's Kindness

We're never more like God above
Then when we show this thing in love
It's Kindness

Our words can hurt, our words can heal
To use this thing, I make appeal
It's Kindness

To be considerate, good and fair
And show affection, warmth and care
That's Kindness

To help someone when they are down
And make a smile out of their frown
With Kindness

It isn't always being 'nice'
And sometimes you must pay the price
For Kindness

It comes from love, this thing we show
And sometimes it means saying 'No'
That's Kindness

Perhaps you are the only one
And what you do must needs be done
In Kindness

For faithful wounds may hurt your friend
But he will love you in the end
For Kindness

And if you wonder what to do
Just do for them what you'd do for you
That's Kindness

We treat ourselves with love and care
How often do we think or dare
Of Kindness

It is an action, good and true
Just look around, there's lots to do
Show Kindness

From life's first step to journey's end
There is one action I'll defend
It's Kindness
