Kintsugi Poem by Eimile Nakoma

Kintsugi

No one heard a sound
When the vase hit the ground
No one saw the fragments
Shattered
Splintered
Spread

No one opened the door
To find along the floor
A lone girls detachments
Bloody
Bleeding
Dead

So I sat alone in pieces
Pouring from my creases
Whatever shall I do?
Bending
Tension
Snapped

I thought that I should try
To scoop up all of my
Self, broken through and through
Bits
Parts
Scraps

Together came the remnants
All surviving elements
Even bits of new
Rise
Revive
Fly

My blood stream filled with gold
A story to be told
Life has been renewed
Stronger
Alive
Dry
