Looking into the mirror
I watch my breath fade
into the past that lingers,
glass clouded with dust,
fragments of you.
I wipe it clean
but yesterdays memories
smear back,
etched in silver glaze,
chasing echoes of mistakes,
whispers of truth,
in the dust that floats
through thick air,
an illusion in the mirror
without you there.
I trace the light of you
like a vanished star,
an ancient ghost
drifting weightlessly.
Emotions reaching
across the dark,
for the moon.
But its only my reflection
in the cold mirror,
an alien to myself,
lost in a universe of
fleeting sensations,
eternally desiring you,
living with the phantom of
your touch
kissing memories
in the glass.
