Knowing Poem by therese andrea

Knowing

I knew it would hurt if I told you I love you
Then you say goodbye the next day
I didn’t want to ask you to return the favor
But a tinge of hope hides inside
You shouldn’t have
That’s not how it should have been
I say we are friends
You say now, we are good friends
But there are lies in those words
In my words
Because I am falling though I try not to

I knew it would hurt if I told you I love you
Then you tell me there is another
You didn’t ask me to stay away
And a spark of doubt was felt by my soul
I shouldn’t have
This is not how it should be
I say we are friends
You say now, we are good friends
But there are lies in those acts
In what we want
Because I’m falling though you tell me not to

I knew it would hurt if I told you I love you
Then you tell me you won’t catch me
You’ll be there to pick me up
But I know that’s only kindness from your heart
You shouldn’t have
For I can on my own
I say we are friends
You say now, we are good friends
So now I have to clean my acts
I Know what I want
Because I’m falling, and it won’t be you who’ll save me

I knew it would hurt if I told you I love you
I knew it would hurt because I’m not the girl for you
I knew it from the start, I knew it in my heart
But I’m beginning to fall fast
o I have to learn to fly
To fly on my own again
To open my umbrella
To shield me from the rain

To save me from my fall

(It's structured for a song lyrics)
